Our “Official SFTR Trinidad Colorado” Facebook Group, that is both hidden and private, has been a great success! 128 of your fellow SFTR property owners are now participating in our ranch Facebook Group. It has been noted that some folks are not crazy about using FB. However, the communication committee felt that it was a better alternative to Next Door (ND) that now broadcast posts and numerous ads to several neighborhoods other than the Ranch making it not private at all. It certainly didn’t start out that way when ND became available. And did you know that ND is now publicly traded on the stock market; (Hmmm, just like FB) perhaps this explains all the advertising.

Many have asked: “Why don’t we have a social channel located on the website? Well, it was determined by your communication committee that it would require too much work (cost) and 24-hour monitoring by volunteer(s). Back in the day, when it was available on an older version of a SFTR website, there were no other options for discussion groups or information sharing. Boy haven’t times changed with advancing technology!?! With FB, everyone can share photos and stories instantly, functions that have been requested.

If you would like to participate on FB, please contact Claudia Henning, Lori Clark or Bill Nielsen (email addresses located on website Communication Committee Page. They will be happy to help you navigate onto the Page. You will not find it by searching on FB as it is Hidden, one of the unique features offered by Facebook. Only if you are a member, will it be searchable. Interestingly factoid…., there are other FB pages for the Ranch that were created in the past, one even by a local realtor! The only one that is current has in its title “Official….”. Another thought to share…it is possible that you might have trouble getting an invite to the Page after contacting the folks on the Communication Committee. This happens when the following occurs:

“Your security filters on your FB account and/or email rejects the invite”

or

“The email address provided for the invite is not attached to your personal Facebook account.”
